Singapore shares saw a positive opening on Friday, tracking a tech-led rally on Wall Street as easing bond yields improved risk appetite globally.
The Straits Times Index (STI) opened 20.51 points, or 0.36%, higher at 5,768.220.
Investors found comfort after US Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said he would support keeping interest rates steady if price pressures continue to ease. Market participants are also keenly eying the US jobs report due later in the day for further clues on the US Fed's direction on interest rates.
