TikTok parent ByteDance is planning to add five to six gigawatts of artificial intelligence computing capacity in Inner Mongolia, China, over the next two years, the South China Morning Post reported Thursday.

Sources said the project, targeting delivery by early 2028, could cost up to 960 billion yuan based on industry estimates, according to the report.

The move follows ByteDance's recent $29.6 billion loan, underscoring its aggressive AI infrastructure push amid a broader tech industry spending surge.

ByteDance did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
