Materials up as Waller Comments Weigh on U.S. Dollar - Materials Roundup

Producers of metals, grains and other raw materials rallied as comments from Federal Reserve governor Christopher Waller weighed on the U.S. dollar.

Waller hinted that he would support a hold in interest rates at the Fed's midSeptember meeting, pending a confirmation of disinflation trends in August inflation data.

Gold futures rose by 2.9%, approaching the $4500-per-ounce level.
