欧洲央行管委、爱尔兰央行行长加布里埃尔・马赫卢夫接受媒体采访时表示，如果通胀“开始向不利方向发展”，欧洲央行必须做好进一步加息的准备。
马赫卢夫表示，欧元区通胀率高于3%，而经济增长又较夏季前市场预期“小幅走强”，这令他感到“不安”。
“我们下周将要作出的决议不会让任何人感到意外。”马赫卢夫称。
马赫卢夫预计，欧洲央行还会将欧元区2026年经济增长预测小幅上调。
他表示，好于预期的国内生产总值增速，是促使下周决议“十分明确”的因素之一。
马赫卢夫称，即便存款基准利率达到2.5%，该利率水平仍不会抑制经济活动，限制性利率区间将从2.75%以上开始。
他表示，通胀预期“处于良好水平”。
目前没有证据显示工资层面出现第二轮通胀效应。他称，“各类风险正处于可控状态。”
