ECB Could Hike Rates Again in December, BNP Paribas Says

1028 GMT - The persistence of the energy-price shock and the eurozone economy's resilience mean the European Central Bank could be on course to raise its key rate in both September and December, BNP Paribas economists say in a note. The ECB is expected to raise rates next week and will likely also raise both its growth and inflation forecasts, supporting the case for further tightening, they say. Continued higher energy prices and a robust economy make second-round effects--of which there is so far limited evidence--more likely to materialize. Policymakers will still label risks to the inflation outlook as being skewed to the upside, the economists say.
