Verizon Communications (VZ) prepared its network along the Gulf Coast as potential Tropical Storm Edouard forms in the Gulf of Mexico, the company said late Monday.

The company said its Houston and Louisiana network is equipped with backup power, including permanent and portable generators, while satellite communications can provide connectivity if terrestrial services are disrupted.

Verizon Frontline's Crisis Response Team is on standby across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, with deployable assets being staged as needed, it added.
