Tech Flat After Dell Earnings - Tech Roundup

Shares of technology companies were more or less flat after strong earnings from Dell Technologies were offset by weakness elsewhere.

Dell Technologies soared after the server maker said AI demand had caused its order backlog to almost double to $95 billion by the end of the second quarter, dwarfing Wall Street benchmarks.

Shares of Palantir tumbled after the AI consulting firm hired American International Group executive chairman, Peter Zaffino as global head of financial services.

Proofpoint, backed by investment firm Thoma Bravo, entered talks to buy rival cybersecurity firm Varonis Systems.

Delivery Hero's board formally backed a $14.8 billion takeover bid from Uber Technologies and advised shareholders to accept it, advancing the planned tie-up of two of the world's biggest food-delivery platforms. Separately, Uber said it was cutting thousands of workers.
