ChainCatcher 消息，美国康奈尔大学发布比特币采用指数报告，该研究在全球 25 个国家调查了 25,880 人。报告显示，萨尔瓦多、委内瑞拉和尼日利亚是曾拥有过比特币的受访者占比最高的国家。报告称，在这些法币不稳定、难以获得美元或可靠银行服务的经济体中，比特币更多扮演“务实变通方案”而非投机工具的角色。
一位受访的委内瑞拉人表示，比特币比其他获取美元的方式“更快、更干净、风险更低”；一名萨尔瓦多人则称“没有人控制比特币，就意味着我们所有人都拥有它”；还有尼日利亚受访者表示，自己到访过六个非洲国家，每到一处都不担心，因为知道可以用比特币消费。
调查同时发现，58% 的受访者不知道比特币供应量上限为 2100 万枚。该报告由 Morning Consult 受康奈尔大学委托开展，合作方包括该校 Jeb E. Brooks 公共政策学院科技政策研究所、康奈尔比特币俱乐部、人权基金会与 Reynolds 基金会，调查于 2024 年 12 月 16 日至 2025 年 3 月 10 日进行，共包含 125 个问题。
