Top Cryptocurrencies Fall; Bitcoin Holds Above $77,000

Top cryptocurrencies fell Wednesday with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) still holding above $77,000.

The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, fell 0.3% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 each rose 0.5%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.6%.

Bitcoin fell 0.1% to $77,188, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume dropped 8.7% to $27.7 billion.

Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, declined 1.2% to $2,385.

XRP (XRP-USD) dropped 1%, BNB (BNB-USD) rose 0.8%, and Solana (SOL-USD) fell 0.6%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) declined 1%, and Cardano (ADA-USD) added 0.1%.

The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry declined 0.2% in the past 24 hours to $2.6 trillion, with trading volume dropping 7% to $75.4 billion.
