Sector Update: Financial Stocks Fall Premarket Tuesday

Financial stocks were leaning lower premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) declining by 0.1%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.4% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.3% higher.

Citigroup (C) is planning to expand its global corporate banking team that serves North Asian clients by about 25% in 2026, Bloomberg reported, citing a company executive. Citigroup stock was down 0.5% pre-bell.

Morgan Stanley's (MS) investment management unit and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial (MUFG) have begun talks to form a collaboration that will help a diverse group of institutional investors participate in developing Japan's private credit market. Shares of Morgan Stanley were nearly 1% lower premarket.

Ares Management (ARES) has closed the Japan Logistics Development Partners V LP fund, raising 612 billion Japanese yen ($3.82 billion). Ares Management shares were 0.5% lower pre-bell.
