Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said Tuesday that too many data center developers don't care about its communities, as opposition to AI-related projects grows nationwide, CNBC reported Tuesday.

Shapiro said Pennsylvania wants to work with developers that engage with local communities rather than "run roughshod" over them, the report said.

The governor last month signed an executive order requiring data center proposals to comply with the state's GRID requirements and removing AI data center projects from a fast-track approval program, CNBC said.
