据9月2日，综合以色列N12频道、伊朗迈赫尔通讯社等外媒报道，美国在伊朗境内发动了袭击。美国司令部也发表声明确认完成对伊朗革命卫队目标实施打击，包括防空阵地、雷达系统、布雷能力和通讯站点等等。作为报复，伊朗向约旦的美国海军陆战队营地发射了重型弹道导弹，并声称造成大量美军伤亡。
