0208 GMT - The Australian dollar rises against its U.S. counterpart on prospects that the Fed would keep rates unchanged at its meeting later this month. Fed Gov. Waller's "willingness to hold policy steady if disinflation continues in August gave an additional tailwind for AUD," Westpac's Richard Franulovich says in commentary. "U.S. payrolls this evening will decide if AUD/USD makes a more concerted push into the" US$0.7200s, the head of FX strategy adds. The Australian dollar rises 0.2% to US$0.7212 after earlier touching US$0.7214, the highest intraday level since mid-May, LSEG data show.
