纽约时间10：00，标普500指数上涨0.2%，纳斯达克100指数跌0.2%，道指走高0.5%。戴尔科技一度上涨近14%。由于用于运行人工智能任务的服务器需求激增，公司将全年销售预期上调250亿美元。博通将在收盘后公布业绩。
WTI原油跌破每桶90美元，此前因美国与伊朗围绕霍尔木兹海峡控制权发生冲突而引发的两日涨势暂歇。油价回落后，美国国债收益率小幅下降，此前其已升至多年高位。
在周五的非农就业报告公布前，数据显示，美国企业8月新增就业步伐有所放缓。美联储主席凯文·沃什上周承认劳动力市场存在一些局部隐忧，但表示整体而言仍与充分就业状态一致。
Landsberg Bennett Private Wealth Management的Michael Landsberg表示：“目前劳动力市场相当平稳。可以有力地认为，美联储在就业方面已经完成使命，现在可以继续把更多注意力放在通胀上。”
美国股市整体情绪仍相对平静。截至周二，标普500指数已经连续24个交易日没有出现至少1%的单日跌幅，这种平静走势上一次出现在5月中旬。当时，随着数据显示通胀回落，投资者加大押注美国经济和企业盈利增长将保持强劲。目前，标普500指数距离历史高点约2.1%。
