韩国航运企业HMM（原现代商船）周二表示，已与巴西矿业巨头淡水河谷（Vale）签订价值 4.7 万亿韩元（约合 35 亿美元）的长期海运合同。
根据协议，HMM将使用 8 艘新建造船舶为淡水河谷运输散货。这批新船将从 2030 年起陆续交付，按照 25 年合同期限投入运营。
这是HMM与淡水河谷达成的第三笔重大合作。此前双方曾于去年 5 月和 9 月签署两份 10 年期长期海运合同，总规模达 1.1 万亿韩元
这八艘总重21万吨的纽卡斯尔马克（Newcastlemax）散货船将配备全球首套三燃料推进发动机，可使用甲醇、乙醇和常规燃油运行。
这些船舶还将具备液化天然气（LNG）和氨气的适配能力，未来可改装为使用液化天然气或氨气作为动力。
它们还将采用环保技术，包括利用风力辅助推进的旋翼帆，有助于提高燃油效率并减少碳排放。
此次合作正值HMM寻求加强其散货航运业务，并在核心集装箱航运运营之外实现业务多元化之际。
今年上半年，HMM的散货船队数量从去年3月底的44艘增至61艘。
