G8 Education (ASX:GEM) said Citigroup became a substantial holder of the firm on Sept. 4 after acquiring 6.5% voting power, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Citigroup Global Markets Australia and related bodies corporate in the Citigroup group of companies hold 50.1 million ordinary shares of the firm, as of Sept. 4.
Its shares fell 3% in recent trading on Tuesday.
