记者9月11日从中国科学技术大学获悉，国际编号为470341号小行星，经国际小行星命名委员会批准并发布国际公报，被正式命名为“潘建伟星”。

据悉，为表彰潘建伟在多粒子纠缠和干涉、自由空间量子传输方面开展了开创性实验研究，使得广域量子通信和量子计算优越性的实现成为可能的卓越贡献，经何梁何利基金评选委员会推荐、中国科学院紫金山天文台申请，国际小行星命名委员会批准，并发布国际公报：国际编号为470341号小行星正式命名为“潘建伟星”。

9月11日，在开学典礼后，中国科学技术大学举行了“潘建伟星”命名仪式。潘建伟在发言中表示，更愿意把“潘建伟星”看作一颗属于我国全体量子科技工作者、属于中国科大的星。“它所承载的，是一个集体共同走过的科学探索之路，也是我国量子科技事业不断发展进步的一个缩影。”潘建伟说。
