硅谷创业孵化器Y Combinator的首席执行官加里·谭接受采访时对Anthropic研究员发出的人工智能可能在十年内灭绝人类的警告表示不以为然。
谭表示，他更倾向于关注人工智能当前的风险，而不是目前占据头条的末日式灭绝风险。
谭主张采取更为克制的人工智能安全监管思路。最近，Anthropic研究员雅各布・考克森离职引发一系列末日论调相关报道，公众对人工智能生存性风险的担忧已升至历史高点。
谭表示：“我们应当专注科学事实，而不是科幻小说。我们需要针对当下正在发生的情况做出应对。倘若出现安全漏洞，并且智能体协同发起攻击、试图接管我们的基础设施，我们该如何处置？”
谭认为网络安全是迫在眉睫的风险，同时还存在其他兼具短期性与生存威胁性的风险。
不过另一些风险的显现周期会更长。谭认为，人工智能引发的失业与经济转型不会立刻产生冲击。相反，他预测随着时间推移，人们会逐步将重复性工作自动化，把更多工作时间投入创造性事务。
“这要几十年才能真正渗透到社会中，而这并不是坏事，”他说。
