据GasBuddy分析师帕特里克·德哈恩在X平台发布的一则帖子称，加州有五家加油站“以每加仑9.999美元的最高可能价格出售柴油”，并表示这些加油站的标价已“达到极限”。
德哈恩在另一篇帖子中提到美国普通民众的燃油支出持续走高。他指出，当前每日燃油总花费 “较去年同期高出 7 亿美元”，每周累计增加 50 亿美元。他还提到柴油均价达到每加仑 6 美元，汽油价格为每加仑 4.2 美元。
在GasBuddy发布的一则声明中，德哈恩表示，油价上涨带来的冲击或许不会立刻显现，但 “创纪录的柴油价格将影响每一批货物、每一次运输、每一件送到美国人手中的货品，并且很可能在整条供应链上重新推高通胀”。他还补充道，即将到来的假日季或将面临更高昂的消费成本。
根据GasBuddy的数据，周四美国柴油均价首次突破每加仑6美元，加州柴油均价达到每加仑 7.91 美元。
