Valor Holdings' Grocery Store, Pharmacy Sales Rise in August; Home Improvement Sales Decline

Valor Holdings' (TYO:9956) total grocery store sales climbed 4.4% year over year in August, while existing store sales rose 2%, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.

The unit price per customer for the segment increased 2.8%, while the number of customers ticked down 0.7%.

Pharmacy sales rose 4.2% at all stores and climbed 1.5% at existing stores.

Home improvement sales recorded a 1.8% decline at all stores and a 0.4% decline at existing stores.

The group opened one new pet shop and closed three stores during the month, bringing its total network to 1,560 stores.
