Elevated BOE Rate Hike Expectations Push Two-Year Gilt Yields to Highest Since 2023

1057 GMT - Investors have raised their expectations of the Bank of England increasing interest rates in the coming months, causing the two-year gilt yields to climb to the highest since 2023. Elevated oil prices have increased inflation risk and caused markets to fully price in three BOE rate rises by June 2027, up from pricing in two BOE rate increases on Monday, LSEG data show. Two-year gilt yields last trade at 4.715%, having hit a nearly three-year high of 4.742% earlier in the session, LSEG data show.
