在致美国交通部长达菲（Sean Duffy）的一封信中，众议员克里希纳穆尔蒂（Raja Krishnamoorthi）援引了美国全国广播公司（NBC）的一份报道，该报道指出了43段视频，视频中似乎有人在行驶中的特斯拉驾驶座上睡觉，其中包括今年发生的17起。
