Atomic Eagle (ASX:AEU) intersected uranium mineralization at the Muntanga North prospect over an interpreted area of about 600 meters by 200 meters during drilling at its Muntanga project in Zambia, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

Further drilling and geological interpretation is needed to determine the scale, continuity and significance of the mineralization, which remains open along strike and down dip to the east, the filing said.

Meanwhile, initial drilling at the Namakande prospect intersected a large continuous zone of mineralization measuring 1,000 meters by 400 meters, per the filing.

Shares rose 1% in morning trade Wednesday.
