ChainCatcher 消息，英国央行（BoE）金融政策委员会成员 Carolyn Wilkins 表示，美元稳定币增长可能强化美元全球主导地位，并增加美国国债需求。她在贝尔法斯特女王大学演讲时指出，美元稳定币可便利跨境结算，扩大美国以外地区对美元资产的获取渠道。
稳定币发行商 Tether 的 USDT 与金融科技公司 Circle 的 USDC，截至 2025 年末持有近 1500 亿美元美国国债，并于当年买入约 330 亿美元。Wilkins 指出，大规模稳定币赎回可能迫使发行商出售国债，从而放大承压市场的波动。目前稳定币总流通量已超过 3000 亿美元，其中 98% 的价值与美元挂钩。Wilkins 表示，这使美元获得显著的先发优势，稳定币市场的发展影响已超出加密货币领域。
英镑稳定币的发展速度相对较慢。英国金融行为监管局已通过专门监管沙盒测试潜在发行商，并于 6 月敲定英国稳定币发行规则；英国央行也测试了稳定币与模拟数字英镑协同用于跨境贸易支付的可行性。
