9月15日消息，据《华尔街日报》报道，OpenAI以超过3亿美元的价格收购了智能手机摄像头制造商Glass Imaging 。
这家成立于2019年、总部位于加州洛斯阿尔托斯的公司此前已从投资者那里筹集了约3000万美元的资金。
Glass Imaging由 Ziv Attar 和 Tom Bishop 创立，他们都是前苹果工程师，曾领导团队开发苹果的人像模式。这段经历直接影响了他们目前在 Glass Imaging 的工作，他们利用人工智能克服智能手机摄像头在物理尺寸上的限制。
Glass Imaging 并非在拍摄后使用人工智能编辑照片，而是利用神经网络学习各个摄像头系统的特性——例如不同智能手机型号上的不同摄像头——从而在按下快门的那一刻就获得更优质的图像。
OpenAI尚未对此事作出回应。据传，ChatGPT的开发商OpenAI正在研发自己的硬件产品，例如智能手机、耳机和人工智能伴侣设备。
2025 年，OpenAI 首席执行官 Sam Altman 和苹果著名设计师 Jony Ive 透露，他们一直在合作开发一家名为 io 的设备初创公司，随后 OpenAI 以 65 亿美元收购了 Ive 的公司。
