The South Korean telecommunications company KT (KRX:030200) and the government-backed Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information launched Korea's first 400-gigabit-per-second international dedicated circuit linking South Korea and the United States, The Korea Times reported Wednesday.

The circuit connects KISTI's headquarters in Daejeon with the research-network hub in Chicago in North America, and the new connection has four times the bandwidth of the previous 100 Gbps link.

KT did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
