ChainCatcher 消息，Phemex CEO Federico Variola 在 Cointelegraph 的 Chain Reaction 节目中表示，AI 对加密行业而言是“净负面影响”。他认为 AI 一方面分流了加密行业的资金，另一方面助长了攻击者，使其利用社会工程或漏洞挖掘等手段攻击协议，推高了小型团队的网络安全成本，这些压力可能推动加密行业走向更大程度的中心化。
Variola 表示，很难对加密领域的 AI 持乐观态度，因为许多所谓的修复实际上鼓励了更多而非更少的中心化。他还警告，随着 AI 日益普及，设备被入侵或社会工程等威胁手段增多，DeFi 对普通零售用户的吸引力将下降。不过他也承认 AI 代理在帮助投资者构建投资组合或做出更好交易决策方面具有实用价值，但预计 AI 代理不会完全取代人类的交易决策。
这一表态的背景是，Phemex 今年 2 月宣布进行 AI 转型，计划将 AI 嵌入产品开发和内部运营。此外，今年 7 月攻击者利用 Coldcard 硬件钱包漏洞盗走约 1.16 亿美元比特币，该漏洞被广泛认为是通过恶意使用 AI 发现的；Coinkite CEO Rodolfo Novak 当时警告，AI 辅助代码审查发现漏洞的速度已超过业内最资深的专家。CertiK 高级区块链调查员 Natalie Newson 则指出 AI 也能成为最大的防御力量之一。
