Sempra's (SRE) subsidiary Sempra Infrastructure signed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Petroleo Brasileiro (PBR) to supply about 0.8 million tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas, the company said Monday.
The LNG will be sourced from Sempra Infrastructure's contracted liquefaction capacity at the Port Arthur LNG phase 2 project in Texas, which is currently under construction, the company said.
Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 reached a final investment decision in Sept. 2025 and will include two liquefaction trains with a combined capacity of about 13 Mtpa.
The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2030 and 2031 for trains 3 and 4, respectively, it added.
