路透华盛顿9月14日 - 一份政府报告周一指出，美国联邦航空管理局需要国会提供更多资金，以完成一项耗资106亿美元的空中交通管制改革计划的第一阶段，且该局低估了新系统运营的总成本。
美国政府问责局指出，联邦航空管理局既未全面评估新系统的运营成本，也未制定完成改革的详细时间表。
“本质上，联邦航空管理局为了加快交付进度，不惜冒着成本不确定性和潜在运营中断的风险，”政府问责局报告称，并补充道：“这些风险增加了联邦航空管理局重蹈成本超支、项目延误以及未能达到绩效目标覆辙的可能性。”
国会此前已批准90亿美元用于空管改革的第一阶段，该阶段预计总成本为106亿美元。GAO称，FAA正动用本年度预算中的10亿美元，并还需要另外5.74亿美元。
