Capgemini's Business Model Transformation Possible Through AI

Dow Jones

0831 GMT - Capgemini should shift from labor-based services to a software-driven model built around artificial intelligence, Bernstein's Richard Nguyen and Derric Marcon write in a note. "The conventional debate treats Capgemini as either an AI winner, supported by a major new technology cycle, or an AI casualty, exposed to falling demand for developers and support staff. We think both views are incomplete," they say. AI is reshaping the corporate technology ecosystem, offering services providers the opportunity to reposition themselves at a higher level in the value chain and build strategic advantages that could last for years, they add. The most important change might be how the company gets paid as AI creates the possibility of a different model, they say. Shares are up 4.9% at 107.85 euros.
