Major digital assets rose Monday, with Bitcoin (BTC-USD) topping $79,000.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks dozens of digital assets including Bitcoin, rose 2.7% in the past 24 hours. The Nasdaq 100 and, the S&P 500 each dropped 0.5%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.3%.
Bitcoin gained 2.4% to $79,065, according to CoinMarketCap data. The most popular cryptocurrency's 24-hour trading volume more than doubled to $28 billion.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset by market value, rose 1.5% to $2,543.
XRP (XRP-USD) jumped 7.8%, BNB (BNB-USD) rose 0.7%, and Solana (SOL-USD) increased 2.3%. Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) added 0.8%, while Cardano (ADA-USD) advanced 2.1%.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry rose 2% in the past 24 hours to $2.69 trillion, with trading volume jumping 73% to $78.4 billion.
