Amplia Therapeutics (ASX:ATX) and the Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) have finalized the clinical trial protocol for the PRROSE phase two study, clearing a key milestone ahead of the trial's planned commencement, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The trial will evaluate the company's focal adhesion kinase inhibitor narmafotinib in combination with standard chemotherapy in women with high-grade serous ovarian cancer whose tumors show a poor response to chemotherapy before interval debulking surgery, per the filing.

The study is expected to enroll around 26 patients at selected sites across Australia and New Zealand, with ethics and site approvals to be secured before patient recruitment begins by the end of the year, the filing added.

The company's shares rose 4% in recent Tuesday trade.
