President Donald Trump on September 14 posted on social media platform X, criticizing those who claim artificial intelligence will destroy the world and that data centers are bad for neighborhoods. Trump asserted that these are the same people who, not long ago, said the world would be extinguished by "climate change."

He called that a "HOAX" that "never worked out for them," adding that they are now onto the next one. "These people are Revolutionaries, but Revolutionaries for a Bad and Evil Cause," Trump wrote. He further suggested that they are working for forces hostile to U.S. interests: "Soon you’ll find out they’re working for people that do not have the best interests of the United States in mind!"

Trump did not name specific individuals or organizations. The White House has not provided additional comment. The remarks continue Trump's pattern of attacking climate science and critics of technology industries.
