沙特阿拉伯周三表示，其防空部队在胡塞武装无人机进入麦加空域之前将其拦截并摧毁。但伊朗支持的胡塞武装否认这一说法，称其为“陈词滥调的谎言”，本次冲突战火首次波及这座圣城。
与此同时，伊斯兰合作组织谴责此次袭击为“恶劣行径”，谴责胡塞武装袭击麦加、麦地那地区，同时指责该组织持续对沙特发动侵略。
周三油价有所回落，但布伦特原油、美国西德克萨斯中质原油期货仍分别徘徊在每桶107.8美元、104.6美元的四个月高位附近。
大宗商品研究机构Commodity Context创始人、石油市场分析师罗里·约翰斯顿称，截至周日，霍尔木兹海峡石油运输7日均值升至近1200万桶/日，“无疑是自谅解备忘录签署后6-7月回暖以来的最高水平”。
他表示：“这其中几乎没有伊朗原油。”约翰斯顿补充称，该运量仍不足战前水平的60%。这表明海峡航运仍有较大恢复空间，而也门战事、管道中断，为本就紧张的原油供应格局叠加了新风险。
