Vietnam's finance ministry is said to be mulling a sovereign dollar bond sale to fund infrastructure spending and other projects, Reuters said in a report on Tuesday citing people familiar with the matter.

The ministry is in talks with investment banks to chalk out the terms for its first bond sale in over a decade after it issued a 10-year offshore sovereign bond in 2014 to raise $1 billion, the sources said.

While one foreign investment bank has recommended the issue of a $1 billion 10-year dollar bond, another has suggested a 10-year bond sized between $500 million and $1 billion and a coupon of around 7%, said two separate sources.

MT Newswires could not immediately contact Vietnam's finance ministry for confirmation of the news report.
