Otsuka ICU Medical issued a voluntary recall for one lot of 0.9% sodium chloride injection due to a potential labelling mix-up.

The recall includes injections of 100 milliliter single packs to the user level.

Products with the 0.9% sodium chloride label could actually contain potassium chloride due to the mix-up, Otsuka said Thursday.

The issue was identified through a customer complaint where a potassium chloride injection bag was found inside an overwrap of sodium chloride.
