Silvercorp Metals has renewed its share-repurchase program to buy back up to 4% of its shares over the next year.

The Canadian mining company on Thursday said it plans to buy back up to 8.8 million of its own shares for cancellation through a normal course issuer bid.

Its shares have enjoyed a strong run in 2026, rising about 36% since the start of the year to close Wednesday at 15.61 Canadian dollars ($11.16).

At Wednesday's closing price, the value of the shares intended for buyback would be worth about C$138.1 million.

Silvercorp can begin buying back the shares starting Sept. 21.
