Amazon.com (AMZN) is facing European Union scrutiny over practices that allegedly restrict third-party sellers from offering lower prices on rival marketplaces or their websites, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The European Commission is questioning sellers about possible price-parity restrictions under the Digital Markets Act, the report said. The review is at an early stage and could lead to a formal investigation, Bloomberg said.

Amazon and the European Commission didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
