INNIO shares rose Thursday after the company said it secured an order for 450 megawatts of power infrastructure from a U.S. energy company to power U.S. data centers.
Shares traded 15% higher at $21.50.
Under the terms of the agreement, the distributed energy solutions provider will supply containerized Jenbacher J624 gas engines--pre-assembled, ready-to-use power generation systems--with deliveries scheduled through 2028.
INNIO didn't identify the energy company but said the order is the first by a customer of this scale.
The order comes as tech giants scale their artificial intelligence and cloud requirements at breakneck speeds, requiring massive amounts of energy to power their operations.
The behind-the-meter, on-site power equipment is designed to operate independently of regional electrical grids to support data center developments handling high-performance computing and artificial intelligence workloads.
