0406 GMT - The Singapore dollar is steady against its U.S. counterpart during Asian trading. The currency remains extremely resilient amid possible U.S. dollar debasement and the greenback's loss of credibility, Maybank analysts say in a report. The Monetary Authority of Singapore has tightened policy twice this year, and its warnings that the macroeconomic condition remains uncertain should keep investors on their toes. However, the Singapore dollar can still outperform, as its current annual pace of appreciation is 1.25%, Maybank says. The U.S. dollar is little changed at 1.2752 Singapore dollars, LSEG data show.
