特朗普的捐赠者哈罗德・哈姆（Harold Hamm）旗下石油公司大陆资源公司周三宣布达成一项在委内瑞拉开展钻探作业的协议。
一份新闻稿显示，大陆资源公司与委内瑞拉国有石油公司签署了一份谅解备忘录，获准在石油资源丰富的奥里诺科重油带内一片12.6万英亩的区域开展钻探作业。
“大陆公司成立的初衷就是识别巨大的资源机遇，并坚定地去追求这些机遇，”哈姆在一份书面声明中表示。
就在该交易公布的几周前，美国政府与雪佛龙公司也分别宣布了在委内瑞拉的相关合作协议。
特朗普政府于今年早些时候出兵委内瑞拉，并逮捕该国领导人尼古拉斯・马杜罗。此次军事行动之后，特朗普推动美国石油企业到这个石油储量巨大的南美国家投资开采石油。
哈姆曾为特朗普的总统竞选活动捐赠巨额资金，他也是特朗普宴会厅项目的出资人之一。
