PTT Exploration & Production (SET:PTTEP) incoming Chief Executive Kanita Sartwattayu said a $3 per MMBtu increase in liquefied natural gas prices could push Thai electricity prices up by 5%, Reuters reported Wednesday.
While addressing the Gastech conference, Kanita said Thailand relies on LNG for around 30% of its power generation, making electricity costs sensitive to movements in LNG prices, the news agency said.
