The exodus at Weil, Gotshal & Manges is spilling over into Europe.

Two of the law firm's London-based partners, David Avery-Gee and Sarah Flaherty, are set to join rival Sullivan & Cromwell as it seeks to bolster its dealmaking practice in Europe.

S&C said Thursday that Avery-Gee, who co-manages Weil's London office, will join as co-head of its European M&A practice, alongside Olivier de Vilmorin in Paris. Flaherty joins as a partner, S&C said in a statement.

The moves come on the heels of six Weil partners, including its top dealmaker, leaving to join Cravath, The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month.

Top law firms face various pressures. Top rainmamkers are getting poached. AI is emerging as a threat. And clients have become less loyal.

Avery-Gee is particularly well-known in European legal circles, working on a slew of deals including the Advent and FedEx-led bid in February to acquire Polish parcel-locker provider InPost for more than $9 billion.

Flaherty has also worked on a string of deals and both a count commodities giant Glencore as a client.
