据美国广播公司报道，爱尔兰数据保护委员会21日称，因美国谷歌公司违反欧盟《一般数据保护条例》，对其开出4.03亿欧元（约合人民币31亿元）的罚单。
该委员会于六年前展开调查，调查认定，在2018年5月至2020年2月间，谷歌对用户定位数据保护不足，致使这些数据可能被用于广告投放、推断用户喜好等，这违反欧盟《一般数据保护条例》规定的合法、公平、透明等原则。爱尔兰数据保护委员会还要求谷歌在6个月内完成整改。
对此，谷歌发言人表示，2019年起，谷歌已大幅改进相关做法，例如不再保存精确定位信息、自动删除过往定位数据等。
