SB Energy, a subsidiary of SoftBank that proposed to build the world's biggest data center project in Ohio, had originally planned its initial public offering for this month, but the offering has been delayed, The New York Times reported Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Investors are questioning the company's sought-after valuation of $50 billion or higher, while bankers are struggling to line up enough buyers for SB Energy stock at the price ranges the company had sought.

SB Energy disclosed its financials on Sept. 1 but is not expected to go public before mid- to late October, according to the report.

SB Energy did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
