路透华盛顿9月23日 - 威瑞森（Verizon） VZ.N 周三表示，随着美国经济经历剧烈转型，该公司将投资7000万美元，开展一项全国性计划，为求职者、小型企业及教育工作者提供人工智能培训。
这家美国电信公司正与“善意工业”（Goodwill Industries）等主要非营利项目合作，旨在利用IBM IBM.N、谷歌 GOOGL.O、Anthropic、微软 MSFT.O 和OpenAI等公司的培训资源，为数十万人提供人工智能培训。
“人工智能将改变劳动力市场的面貌，”威瑞森首席执行官舒尔曼（Dan Schulman）在接受采访时表示，“为了捍卫民主，我们必须采取这一行动。”
舒尔曼希望大型企业能加入这一行动，增加资金投入，帮助员工掌握与人工智能相关的特定岗位所需技能。“挺身而出符合所有企业领导者的自身利益，”舒尔曼说道，“如果每家《财富》100强企业(公司) 都能为此投入5000万美元或7000万美元，我们将拥有一个数十亿美元的基金。”
威瑞森（Verizon）去年宣布裁员1.3万人后，曾表示将投资2000万美元帮助离职员工掌握人工智能技能。此次新举措又追加了5000万美元。
