0722 GMT - European stocks are mixed at the open as they struggle to replicate Monday's surge in U.S. stocks. Utilities and technologies gain while banks slide, with the Europe-wide Stoxx 600 rising 0.2%. London's FTSE 100 adds 0.1%, led by a 9% jump for home-improvement retailer Kingfisher after a guidance raise. In Paris, the CAC 30 edges up 0.05%. Gains for software and utilities stocks counter weakness in autos and luxuries. Renault falls 1.4%. Autos also fall in Frankfurt, as Germany's DAX is 0.1% lower. Mercedes-Benz loses 1.2%, while financial group Allianz drops 1.8%. Italy's FTSE MIB falls 0.3%, while the Spanish IBEX 35 is flat. The Dutch AEX adds 0.3%, led by a 3.4% jump for Prosus after management changes at the company. ASML climbs 0.3%.
