France's Arnault family intends to simplify the structure of the companies that hold LVMH, a move designed to secure the clan's long-term control over the luxury conglomerate.
Under the plan, Bernard Arnault's Financiere Agache will take control of LVMH after holding company Christian Dior SE is delisted.
After completion of the necessary transactions, control over LVMH will be exercised within a single company, Christian Dior said Wednesday.
The resulting entity, in the form of a limited joint-stock partnership, will hold a direct stake in LVMH of 49.76% of the share capital and 65.55% of the voting rights, bringing together all of the Arnault family group's stake in LVMH, which amounts to 50.33% of the share capital and 66.27% of the voting rights.
Bernard Arnault has long worked to secure control of LVMH, where he serves as chief executive and chairman. His children hold positions within the group, though ultimate succession plans remain unknown.
