Maruti Suzuki Commissions 300 kW Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant at Manesar

Maruti Suzuki India (NSE:MARUTI, BOM:532500) commissioned a 300 kW green hydrogen electrolyzer plant on a pilot basis at its Manesar manufacturing facility to use surplus solar power to produce hydrogen for manufacturing operations.

The green hydrogen will be blended with natural gas and used as process fuel, according to an Indian bourse filing on Thursday. The plant will use solar power generated at the facility during holidays, when the electricity would otherwise go unused, to produce and store hydrogen.

Maruti Suzuki said it plans to use the pilot's learnings to expand green hydrogen technology across its manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Gujarat.
