SoftBank's Saimemory, Shinko Electric Industries Team Up for Next-Gen Memory Technology

SoftBank (TYO:9434) subsidiary Saimemory has entered into a partnership with Shinko Electric Industries for the research and development (R&D) and commercialization of Z-Angle Memory (ZAM), according to a Monday release.

ZAM is a next-generation memory technology that combines high density and high bandwidth with low power consumption.

Saimemory will lead ZAM's R&D while Shinko Electric Industries will establish the packaging and manufacturing technologies to support the technology's R&D and commercialization.

Shares of SoftBank rose more than 2% in recent trade.
